Dear Editors,

You all have proven to have the ability to shape up our democracy just as the Chicago Boys did to the Chilean economy. Thank you!

The Chicago Boys (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_ecE5SAoK4) were controversial but they acted on their good motivations. Today many Chileans give credit to these few young intellectuals for laying the foundation of Latin America’s most vibrant modern economy.

I believe the stage is as important as the performers.   Without good lighting and sound systems the performer’s ability will not shine.  Similarly, without a good organization and resources I believe our leaders will not succeed.

So while we are driven by our convictions let us also remember the words of Friedrich Nietzsche that “Convictions are more dangerous enemies of truth than lies.”

TPR has become an important source of information for Tibetans.  I hope our next Kalon Tripa and Chitue leaders will look at TPR as a Think Tank where they can tap for information in order to develop their policies or critique it.

Happy birthday TPR and many happy returns!
