A Rejoinder to Lhakpa's "What is Our Long Burdened Heart's Desire?"

Dear Editors,

As mentioned in Lhakpa's article of the 10th March regarding a line from Dentsig Monlam (of HH Dalai lama) 'ringne nyingdu nagpai dodpai dhon' , he tried to implicate and accuse Kalon Tripa of an act of plagiarism and not knowing the proper context in which the phrase was originally written. Lhakpa wrote that "pulling that line from thin air to describe a new context, without a hint of attribution or quoting either the Dalai Lama, the author or Dentsig Monlam, the text is an act of plagiarism."

I think if he (Lhakpa) listens carefully, he will know that our Katri was quoting what His Holiness had said on 8th August during new Kalon Tripa's swearing-in ceremony in Dharamsala. His Holiness had clearly mentioned that line (ringne nyingdu nagpai dodpai dhon) in speech that day within the very context in which Katri was quoting him. So therefore there is no act of plagiarism, and please do some research before coming up with such whimsical accusation. Constructive criticisms are always welcome, but not criticisms for the sake of making meaningless commentaries.
